[CALIFORNIA]. A group of stereoviews and photographs of the San Francisco area, including depictions of earthquake and fire aftermath, comprising:
MCDONALD, A.J., photographer. Golden Gate Park from Terrace, Showing the Garfield Monument. San Francisco: A.J. McDonald, n.d. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (heavy toning, spotting and wear to mount). Photographer's stamp on verso. -- Cliff House and Seal Rocks. [San Francisco]: n.p., n.d. 7 x 4 1/2 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (some toning, spotting/discoloration in certain areas, heavy loss to mount). An illustration of horse carriages descending the steep ramp to Cliff House. -- Mt. Diablo as viewed from Montezuma. N.p.: n.p., n.d. 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 in. silver gelatin photograph on cardstock mount (light wear to image edges, moderate wear to mount). Title inscribed on recto and verso. -- [Sacramento, CA]: n.p., [ca 1900]. 6 5/8 x 4 5/8 in. silver gelatin photograph on cardstock mount (soiling and discoloration throughout). Men wearing white shirts and short, banded hats walk in formation on a Sacramento street as numerous onlookers line the sidewalks. The California "bear" logo can be seen hanging from one of the buildings lining the street. -- Outdoor waterfront scene. San Francisco: Vincent C. Cardinell, n.d. 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 in. silver gelatin photograph (heavy toning, some bending and creasing, and loss to upper left and right corners). -- And 21 other images, and 29 modern prints from old negatives including 25 reproduction stereoviews. Condition generally fair.
[With:] The City Argus. Vol. XXVIII. No. 3. San Francisco: 6 May 1893. 26 pp., 10 1/4 x 13 1/4 in. (separated at central fold, surface wear, some ripping and tearing to edges, and dampstaining throughout).
[Also with:] A group of 13 modern negatives (from glass plate negatives) featuring scenes from the 1906 earthquake.
