Lot Description

[MINING - CALIFORNIA]. A group of photographs and booklets related to mining in Calaveras County, Atolia, and elsewhere in California, comprising: 


Golden [sic] Cliff Mine, Angel's Camp. [Calaveras Co., CA]: N.p., [between 1899-1920]. 9 1/4 x 7 1/8 in. albumen photo on cardstock mount (appears to have a secondary mounting paper/cardstock, possibly taken from an album; mount toned). Pencil inscription to verso. Includes modern 14 x 11 in. enlargement. -- Atolia. Atolia, CA: N.p., n.d., n.d. 7 x 5 in. photograph on cardstock mount. Title in negative, modern ink inscription to verso. Atolia, located in the Mojave Desert, was home to a Tungsten mine that began operation in 1905. -- Scene at Pipe Shop at Mine Below Supply Camp. [attributed Happy Camp, CA]: N.p., n.d. 7 3/4 x 5 9/16 in. silver gelatin photograph on cardstock mount. Ink inscription to verso. -- Eight outdoor images of dredges and gold mining in California. N.p.: N.p., n.d. Each 4 7/8 x 4 in. silver gelatin photographs. -- And 8 others. Together 19 photographs.

"Jubilee Editon," presumed FIRST EDITION of a booklet printed for the "Mining Fair on Calaveras County Day, February 21, 1898."
