Bartlett (1839-1908) enlisted as a 2nd lieutenant on 17 June 1862 and was commissioned the same day into the 3rd US Army Light Artillery. He was promoted to 1st lieutenant by brevet on 17 September 1862 (for bravery at Antietam), to captain by brevet on 16 November 1863, to captain on 19 March 1864, to major by brevet on 1 September 1864, to lieutenant colonel on 17 November 1864, and to brigadier general by brevet on 13 March 1865. When promoted to captain, he was commissioned into US Volunteers Aide-de-Camp, and when promoted to lt. colonel, he was commissioned into Field & Staff of the 2nd North Carolina Mounted Infantry. He was mustered out on 16 August 1865 but remained in the US Army until his retirement on 29 November 1892.

Murray (d. 1864) enlisted on 17 June 1862 as a 2nd lieutenant and was commissioned the same day into the 5th US Army Light Artillery. Shortly thereafter, he was brevetted to captain on 17 September 1862 for bravery at Antietam. He was transferred on 6 October 1862 into the 2nd US Army Light Artillery and promoted to 1st lieutenant on 30 March 1864. He was promoted to major by brevet on 22 July 1864 for action in Atlanta but captured and confined at Macon, GA. He died as a prisoner of war (POW) on 22 July 1864.

Chaffee (1841-1867) enlisted on 17 June 1862 as a 2nd lieutenant and was commissioned the same day into the US Army Ordnance Department. He was promoted to 1st lieutenant on 3 March 1863 and to captain by brevet at Vicksburg on 7 July 1863. He served in the US Army until his death on 7 July 1867.
