Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 3 CDVs featuring outdoor scenes, incl. View from Top of Signal Station, Hilton Head, South Carolina. Concord, NH: H.P. Moore, [1860s].
3 x 2 in. CDV on cardstock mount (toning, some spotting; edge and corner wear to mount). Verso with title and photographer's imprint on applied paper label. Henry P. Moore traveled to South Carolina and Georgia in 1862-1863 to visit the 3rd New Hampshire Regiment, and during that trip, he had the opportunity to photograph soldiers in camp, Navy warships, sailors, and formerly enslaved people at work.
