Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Quarter plate tintype of Union artillery soldiers on the beach at Hilton Head, South Carolina. [Hilton Head, SC]: n.p., [1860s].
Quarter plate tintype. (Some scratches in upper area.) Housed in full pressed paper case (minor scuffs).
A group of 8 soldiers in uniform stand in a row on a beach. Their kepis appear to have crossed cannons and possibly a number 3, tentatively identifying the men to the 3rd Rhode Island Heavy Artillery which were stationed in Hilton Head.
