Lot Description
Galanos Floral Printed Dress, 1970s
This dress was owned by Cynthia Lasker (née Cynthia Stone Palmer), wife of American businessman and thoroughbred racehorse breeder Edward Lasker. Cynthia and Edward Lasker were prominent members of Southern California society and became benefactors of museums and universities nationwide.
Brown silk dress with floral print and matching belt. The all-over floral print is made of bunches of roses and gold ribbon. The dress is beautifully made with most edges finished in orange silk and an underlayer of brown silk throughout the bodice and skirt. The dress closes down the center back with hook and eyes, buttons and a zip. The skirt has deep slits on each side seam. The belt is made of the same material as the dress and is edged in brown leather.
