Lot Description
[MONASTERY HILL BINDING]. IRVING, Washington (1783-1859). The Alhambra. New York and London: The Knickerbocker Press, 1891.
2 volumes, 8vo. Text printed within red and gold frame borders. Full tan morocco gilt, spine in 4 compartments with 3 raised bands, one large compartment with tan onlay decorated in gilt and blind depicting the Alhambra, gilt-lettered in one, the rest gilt-decorated, board edges gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut, STAMP-SIGNED BY THE MONASTERY HILL BINDERY (spines slightly sunned, a few small scuffs).
The "Darro Edition" of Irving's work first published in 1832, the present edition featuring the text of Irving's Revised Edition, published in 1851.
