A University of Virginia Stenciled and Ebonized Armchair
The shaped crest centered by a gilt-stenciled medallion inscribed UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA 1819, over parcel-gilt and ebonized spindles above the saddle seat, raised on bamboo-turned legs joined by stretchers; the reverse with brass plaque inscribed 'Thomas E. Martin, Jr.'49 President Alumni Association of the University of Virginia 1968-69'.
