Butt marked U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917 with the lower barrel marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Left barrel struck S.&W. D.A. 45 with standard two-line address and patent to top of the barrel. Further marks include {Ordnance Bomb} at upper left frame, {Eaglehead/S7} to the lower frame, and an {Eaglehead/S3} on the interior frame and lower barrel. Serial numbers match on the butt, barrel, cylinder, and star extractor. Interior assembly number reads 33931.
