Lot Description

**DWM Double Date 1917-1920 Luger Pistol

9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 1937A. Blued Metal refinish with nitre blued and straw colored small parts mounting checkered walnut grips. Striker action short recoil operated toggle-locking autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Item shows DWM logo to the toggle link, and a double date mark of 1920/1917, indicating this pistol was retained in the inventory of Germany after the end of World War I. Original military proof markings include the WWI German {Reichsadler} on the right barrel extension and left breechblock. Gothic letter inspection stamps to right breechblock, and rear toggle. Barrel struck with the Weimar {Droop Wing Eagle} to the upper barrel with lower barrel additionally struck {Droop Wing Eagle/S(Obliterated)25}. Barrel additionally shows a number of 3,315 below eagle stamp. Serial numbers match to most components, including fluted firing pin, but the grips are not numbered. The serial number on toggle pin has an electropencil marking of 37, suggesting it was force matched. Comes with a nonmatching WWII pattern magazine with alloy spring plug numbered 3301/c/{Eagle/63}. {C&R}
