Five Post-Civil War Socket Bayonets & Scabbards, Including Joslyn Rifle, Winchester 1873 and Trapdoor
Indian Wars
1) Loose scabbard for the quadrangle US Peabody Rifle socket bayonet in Fair to near Good condition with wear.
2) British Pattern 1876 Martini Henry Socket Bayonet with scabbard. 22.25" bright triangular blade with scattered surface rust and RSAF Enfield inspection marks, 3" blued socket with surface rust and locking ring. About Fair condition overall. Includes well worn scabbard with splits in the leather and finish loss.
3) Winchester Model 1873 Musket Socket Bayonet and Scabbard. 18" unmarked bright blade with 3" socket with locking ring. Very Good overall. With a well worn US 7-rivet scabbard with some missing stitching and substantial finish loss.
4) US M1865 Joslyn Rifle Socket Bayonet with 20" blade marked US and 3" socket with locking ring. Metal evenly oxidized with a dull gray color and even light pitting. About Fair overall.
5) US M1873 Trapdoor Rifle Socket Bayonet with metal scabbard and US rosette Prairie Belt frog and brass hanger. 18" blued blade marked US with 3" socket with locking ring. About Very Good with much of the the thinning blue intact. Scabbard with moderate to heavy wear.
6) US M1873 Trapdoor Rifle Socket Bayonet with metal scabbard and US rosette Prairie Belt frog and brass hanger. 18" blued blade marked US with 3" socket with locking ring. About Very Good to Fine with much of the the mostly bright blue intact. Scabbard with moderate to heavy wear.
