Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver
American Civil War
.44 Cal. 8" barrel length. SN: 32782. Blued and casehardened metal finish with iron rear gripstrap and brass triggerguard mounting walnut one piece grips, and four screw frame cut for stock mounting. Single action six shot percussion revolver mounting German Silver front blade and hammer rear notch sights. Top of the barrel displays maker marking ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA with left frame marked COLTS/PATENT. Cylinder exhibits faint Ormsby Naval Engagement in addition to an intact COLTS PATENT marking. Serial numbers match on the gripstraps, frame, barrel, arbor pin, and wedge pin. Item has been buffed and the grips sanded, leaving only one martial L initial visible on cylinder. Left grip panel shows a weak and illegible cartouche. {ANTIQUE}
