Lot Description
LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865). Proclamation of Emancipation. New York: C.A. Alvord for R.A. Dimmick, 1864.
23 x 17 1/4 in. engraved broadside after W. Roberts (scattered toning and creasing, small repair to upper margin verso, small dampstain to lower margin).
A decorative printing of the Emancipation Proclamation, embellished with an oval portrait of Lincoln at the top and a large view of Fort Sumter in flames at the bottom. The borders depict six other oval ornaments portraying slavery on the left and freedom on the right.
