13 3/4 x 5 3/4 in. printed broadside, single column with black mourning border. (Folds, some soiling, and corners reinforced with rice paper.)
"THE ASSASSINS KNOWN!" As news of Lincoln's assassination and the attack on Secretary of State William Seward began to trickle out of Washington, newspapers across the country struggled to keep up. By the time the present supplement was printed, John Wilkes Booth was convalescing at the home of Dr. Samuel Mudd, and Seward's attacker, Lewis Powell, was wandering through Washington.
