Two Jacquard Woven Cotton and Wool Coverlets
Charles Adolph (b. French, 1815- after 1870), and Sarah LaTourette (1822–1914) or Henry LaTourette (1832–1892), Dated, "1849" and "1858", Respectively
the first, by Charles Adolph, plain weave double cloth with main warp fringe, inscribed "1849" with depiction of Capitol Building; the second, plain weave double cloth with main warp fringe; woven on loom with Jacquard attachment, two loom widths joined, inscribed, "Year 1858".
88 7/8 × 40 5/8 inches (first), 92 1/2 × 71 3/8 inches (second).
