two 7 1/4 x 5 1/4 in. albumen photographs on 14 x 10 3/4 in. cream-colored mounts, unmarked but originally taken in Washington, DC, by Antonio Zeno Shindler. The sitters are misidentified in ink below each portrait.

The following portraits are included: Kol-kol-shu-a-tash, "Jason", Chief of the Nez Perce, taken June 1868; and Ta-mo-son, "Timothy", Chief of the Nez Perce, taken June 1868. "Timothy" poses with his interpreter, Perren Whitman.

The Nez Perce delegation was in Washington, DC, from May to August 1868.
