US Model 1833 Hall Carbine in .52 Caliber
Seminole Wars
.52 Caliber. 26.25" barrel secured by two flat spring-retained bands. NSN. Browned finish, iron furniture, smooth walnut stock with implement compartment in toe line. Single shot smoothbore percussion breechloading tilting breech carbine with retractable triangular "ramrod bayonet", fixed notch rear sight, Barleycorn front sight and sling ring in rear of trigger plate. Standard 4-line S. North markings on breech block and dated 1839. No visible cartouches. These guns saw service with the 2nd Dragoons in Florida during the Seminole Wars, while the .58 caliber version was issued to the 1st Dragoons. {ANTIQUE}
