Washington, D.C. March 25, 1873. Single oblong sheet, 10 1/4 x 17 1/2 in. (260 x 444 mm). Partially-printed document, signed by President Ulysses S. Grant, nominating Bradford T. Simmons for Deputy Postmaster of Johnstown, New York; counter-signed by Secretary of State Hamilton Fish. Original paper seal intact. Creasing from old folds; mat burn around margins; heavily toned.
