Lot Description

[EARLY PHOTO] English album presented to Capt. Bradley cont. 140+ photos, incl. military subjects. 

12 x 14 in. red leather album, front free endpaper beautifully inscribed, "Presented to Captn. G.W. Bradley by the Officers & Members of No. 7, Compy. 5th L.R.V., Novr. 25th 1876." Contains approx. 140 CDVs and cabinet cards of distinguished men, women, and children, including military or fraternal subjects and clergymen. Many appear to be unidentified, while a small sampling include period identifications or signatures on verso. Several images show men dressed in uniform, some posed with weaponry. An additional CDV of note is a young man in uniform holding what appears to be a horn up to his face. Also enclosed is a cabinet photograph of a group of six men in dress uniforms, their chests adorned with medals.
