Also a report of a privateer taking two British brigs near the lighthouse. New York: Arrival of cargo of gunpower and jailing of Tories. Rhode Island: King George III replaced by an Act of the General Assembly with "The Governor and company of Rhode Island & Providence Plantations" in all legal papers. Philadelphia: American reverses before Montreal reported in a letter to Congress, and an appeal to all Philadelphians to turn in lead.
