[EARLY PHOTO] 13 daguerreotypes, tintypes, and ambrotype of varying subjects incl. work by Keely.
(American, 19th century)
13 images, comprising:
7 daguerreotypes, including: 6 sixth plate daguerreotypes, most showing distinguished gentlemen of varying ages with the exception of a portrait of a woman wearing a bonnet under mat credited to R.N. Keely, Philadelphia. -- Ninth plate daguerreotype providing an intimate portrait of a bespectacled man. Housed under mat, preserver, and cover glass, but uncased.
Sixth plate ambrotype of a young man with a bow tied around his neck. (Some loss to emulsion on back of plate.) Housed in half case. -- 4 loose tintypes, approx. 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 in. or smaller, including a studio portrait of a woman posed with a child in her lap. -- Trimmed CDV of a young girl by Sherman, Brooklyn, NY.
