White metal, 48 mm, 41.1 gm. Issued by The Photographic Times of New York to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Louis Daguerre's announcement of his photographic process. The obverse features a bust facing left of Daguerre and the legend "PRESENTED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHIC TIMES N.Y.," with "1839" in the left field and "1889" in the right. The reverse reads "SOUVENIR / OF THE / SEMI / CENTENNIAL / OF / PHOTOGRAPHY / AUGUST 1889." Fine condition.
