Lot Description

[CAMERAS]. C.P. Stirn's Concealed Vest Camera No. 2, ca 1888-1890.

Round "Concealed Vest Camera" made by C.P. Stirn, Berlin. Serial no. 25508, patented 27 July 1886 on reverse. Size approx. 7 in. dia., which indicates that this example is the second model (No. 2). Housed in original wooden box with Stirn's patent information in gilt on interior lining, size 3 x 8 x 8 1/2 in. The original box, which is scarcely encountered, allows for the camera to be used on a tripod.
