Lot Description
[CAMERAS]. Full scale replica 1839 Giroux daguerreotype camera by Robert Lisle, 1991.
Replica of the 1839 daguerreotype camera produced by Alphonse Giroux, handcrafted in wood following period designs. Size 10 in. wide x 8 3/4 in. high x 16 in. deep (not including lens). Underside signed "R.W. Lisle, 1991." The lens engraved around the edge 'LE DAGUERREOTYPE, Ch Alph Giroux et Comp, a Paris,' with a copy of the oval label to one side, with 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 ground glass focal screen to the rear and mirror for vertical viewing, complete with one plate holder.
