Lot Description
A Green-Glazed Pottery Plate from the Curtis Family of Marshfield, Massachusetts
17th / 18th Century
presently mounted in old metal wall hanger, the back with old label inscribed in ink, accompanied by old typed note that transcribes the label, "This plate was in the Curtis Family of Marthfields [sic] for over 200 years and was first brought to Plymouth in the May Flower in 1620," and an old written note inscribed, "Our Present to you came from the same source as last year's and can be accepted as authentic. The design was achieve by thumb-nail, which was common practice of the day."
Diameter 7 3/4 inches.
