refinished, but exhibiting a wonderful figured surface with dramatic appeal; the top is two-board, and shows evidence of being reaffixed or reinforced to base, with peg and old nail holes visible, some having been filled, the side edges of top with some shrinkage or age cracks; drawers glide easily, and with a couple minor nail reinforcements to dovetailed joints; brasses are replaced, with evidence of former holes, the escutcheon to center drawer with a couple plugged holes on either side; the back right-facing foot with repaired break, with a couple old nails visible, and small loss along back of foot; the back of left-facing leg and stile with old gouged losses which have been filled; the front left-facing leg with evidence of a mend and reinforced joint, with a plugged hole and nail visible; the front right-facing leg with repaired break to upper interior, with plugged holes or small nails visible to interior or underside; the knee returns with some reinforced attachments, and with some occasional shrinkage cracks to legs, feet, and case; center drawer missing lock
