Two Continental Gold, Enamel, and Crystal Snuff Boxes
French and German, 18th / 19th Century
comprising a French 18 Karat gold-mounted cut crystal shell-form snuff box, post 1838, the rim struck three times, including twice with standard mark in the form of eagle head facing right; and a rectangular gold and enamel snuff box, German, circa 1800, the lid with figures and horse in a landscape with ruins against an opalescent pink sky, the interior well and lid each struck with sunburst between three sprigs, the right-facing edge of lid impressed "3419."
Height 1/2 x width 3 3/4 x depth 1 7/8 inches (rectangular box), Height 1 3/8 x width 2 3/4 x depth 2 1/8 inches (shell-form box).
