engraved with initials, "BA", housed in cardboard box with note to interior inscribed, "To: Brooke Astor/ This key to the Old Merchant's House is given/ that its premises be always open to her/ Without Brooke Astor the House could not have/ been finished and its historic interiors lost from the City."
