Original black cloth, lettered in red, top edge stained red (light fraying near head of spine); dust jacket designed by Arthur Hawkins (price-clipped as in most copies, some restoration to spine ends and flap folds, 1 1/2-in. area at foot of spine in facsimile). Provenance: The Holiday Bookshop (booksellers' ticket).
FIRST EDITION. In his third novel, Faulkner writes about the northern Mississippi location and characters he knew best. He created fictional Yoknapatawpha County which he populated with characters drawn from his own life and family history. Petersen A5.1.
