A Pair of Japanese Bronze and Mixed-Metal Baluster Vases, Meiji Period, Late 19th Century
Meiji Period, Late 19th Century
The exterior of each vase is cast, carved, and inlaid in gold, silver, shakudo, copper, and gilt, depicting birds amongst a variety of floral blossoms, all underneath lotus scrolls on the recessed neck, the rounded shoulders mounted with a pair of lion mask-form handles, unmarked.
