A Japanese Hirado Blue and White 'Daimyo and Fuji' Spherical Jar and Cover, Meiji Period
Meiji Period (1868-1912)
A globular jar and cover, painted in a delicate cobalt blue. The central scene depicts an official on horseback admiring a serene landscape with Fujiyama in the distance. The cover is surmounted by a finely modeled finial in the form of a seated tiger.
