The back of each armchair is formed by an open rectangular back, decorated with beaded spandrels carved with keyfret scrolls and a gallery rail with narrow struts running around the inset rectangular soft mat seat on three sides. The back stiles and the arms continue to form the four legs, embraced by shaped aprons below the seat, the lower legs joined by a foot rest, two side stretchers, and a back stretcher.
