One of the most widely read and reprinted of Savonarola's works, which is believed to have been completed on the day of his execution for heresy. Between 1498 and 1581 the work was reprinted 32 times, with the present copy believed to be "printed in a later state of the type associated with the Printer of the Caccia di Belfiore, who is identified as Lorenzo Morgiani and Johannes Petri."
