Lot Description
[Children's & Illustrated] [Disney, Walt] Group of 3 Production Drawings for "Shanghaied"
(Burbank, California: Walt Disney Productions, ca. 1933). Pencil on three sheets of paper, each numbered in pencil at bottom, recto or verso. Sheets measuring 9 1/2 in. (241 mm) tall and from 9 1/4 to 12 1/8 in. wide (235 x 308 mm); Minnie and Pete sheets folded along left and right edges; circular perforations at bottom. In mat and in frame, 13 3/4 x 28 1/4 in. (349 x 717 mm).
A group of three production drawings for the 1934 Burt Gillett-directed animated Mickey Mouse short Shanghaied; comprising sketches of Minnie Mouse, Pegleg Pete, and Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney provided the voice for Mickey, with Marcellite Garner voicing Minnie, and Billy Bletcher as the voice of Pegleg Pete, in his inaugural role. The film was released on January 13, 1934.
