A Cotton and Wool Jacquard Coverlet by Ephraim Hausman
(American, 1813–1901)

blue-green cotton and red wool. Inscribed Made by E. Hausman Trexler Town 1868. Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. 94 3/8 × 78 3/4 inches.

"Ephraim Hausman was born in 11813 as one of five sons to Jacob Hausman, Sr., who lived in Lobachsville, Berks County, Pennsylvania. The father and five of his sons all wove coverlets. Ephraim Hausman died in 1901 and is buried in Trexler Town, Pennsylvania." Mildred Davison and Christa C.
