[Travel & Exploration] Allom, Thomas, and the Rev. G.N. Wright. China, In A Series of Views, Displaying The Scenery, Architecture, And Social Habbits, of That Ancient Empire


London: Peter Jackson, Late Fisher, Son & Co. (ca. 1848). In four volumes. Each volume with engraved vignette title-pages, and with 124 engraved black and white plates throughout, all with tissue-guards. Publisher's red pictorial cloth, elaborately stamped in gilt, joints and extremities worn, corner bumped; all edges gilt; yellow endpapers; ownership signature of Jane, Countess Somers on front paste-down of each volume; closed tears to fore-edges of some plates; one plate in Vol. III detached but laid-in; scattered foxing to text and plates.
