Indians, of Pine Ridge Agency, S.D. Deadwood, SD: L.W. Stilwell, ca 1890s. Titled in the negative. Mount recto with Stilwell's studio imprint and manuscript notation, "Indian Pictures." Provenance: Collection of Fred and Jo Mazzulla (ink stamp on verso); private collector.
[With:] Hostiles. West Union, NE: S.D. Butcher, ca 1891. A distant view of tipis, titled in the negative, with "Indians" written on mount recto. Verso with Butcher's imprint and series title, "Views of Pine Ridge, S.D. Photographed during the late Indian war January 1891."
