[CIVIL WAR]. 5 mounted Brady photographs related to Yorktown, incl. African American soldiers.
2 mounted albumen photographs, each approx. 3 x 2 in., mounted recto/verso on cardstock with printed captions below: "Headquarters of Gen'l. Lafyette. / Before the Battle of Yorktown" and "Cornwallis' Cave. / Converted into a Magazine by the Confederates." Black soldiers stand and recline in the grass in the image featuring Lafayette's headquarters. -- 2 mounted albumen photographs, each approx. 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 in. on cardstock mounts with BRady's copyright printed to lower margin and paper labels affixed to verso, one being a "Brady's Album Gallery" label identifying the image as "No. 413 / Gateway, Yorktown" and the other providing caption only "North-East View of Battery, No. 1 / At Farnhold's House, York River, mounting 5 100-pound and 1 200-pound rifled guns." -- 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount with Brady's copyright to lower margin and "Brady's Album Gallery" label on verso, identifying image as "No. 405. / Court House or City Hall, Yorktown, / Now used as a Hospital—May, 1862." Significant soiling. -- Together, 5 photographs, including 2 mounted on the same card.
