[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 28 sixth plate daguerreotypes of men with notable hairstyles & facial hair.

Seated portrait of a young man with long, untamed hair and a lightly red-tinted face, looking into the camera earnestly. (Some tarnishing and spotting to plate, mostly to edges.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case with velvet pad stamped indecipherably (wear, surface loss). -- Seated portrait of a young gentleman with somewhat bulging eyes and several inches of hair combed over to one side. (Spotting to plate, mat.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case with metal plate affixed to velvet pad reading, "Alfred Metcalf / Father of Guy" (wear, loss). -- Seated portrait of a middle aged man with facial hair extending from ear to ear and passing under his chin. (Tarnishing, weeping, and other imperfections affecting portrait.) Housed in a Union case with ink inscribed paper slip reading, "Charles Gardiner Corley / son / of / Agnes Corley. / (My Great Uncle) about 1850" (loose closure, surface wear). -- And 25 others. Some without cases or full cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 28 sixth plate daguerreotypes of men of varying ages with interesting or notable hairstyles or facial hair.
