[EARLY PHOTO] 27 sixth plate daguerreotypes of young and middle-aged men, incl. magic bordered image


Portrait of a young man with a "magic" border applied in the image (image a bit light, but very good overall). Housed in leather Daguerre case [Berg 4-55G] (some surface wear, scuffing, areas of loss). -- Lightly hand-tinted portrait of a man seated, with hat in hand. Housed in pressed paper case. -- Young man with somewhat stunned expression, holding what appears to be a book in his hand (surface wear to plate, including scratches and smudges). Housed in pressed paper case (fully separated at hinge). -- Young, proud looking gent wearing a plaid vest and large necktie (tarnish to edges). Housed in leatherette case (surface wear). -- Seated portrait of a bearded fellow, manuscript notation affixed to case cover identifying the subject as "George Baylis Kent," with birth and death dates of 1822-1902 (light tarnish to edges, small spot near lower left). Housed in full leatherette case (partial separation to hinge). -- Seated portrait of a man with short, but curly hair, housed under an early mat inside a flip-top leather case (cloudiness and surface wear to plate; scuffing to case and partial separation at hinge). -- And 22 others.
