[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 19 sixth plate daguerreotypes of people with books & other objects/accessories.
Seated portrait of a nicely dressed couple, the man holding his top hat in one hand. (Some clouding to image.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case (surface wear/loss). -- Portrait of a woman standing next to a studio pillar and holding a small bouquet of flowers down to one side. The flowers are tinted in yellow, green, and red. The subject also wears lace gloves. (Tarnishing to edges, some spotting throughout; no preserver.) Housed in a pressed paper case (significant wear, splitting, loss). -- Seated portrait of a lovely lady draped in finery incl. many pieces of jewelry, holding an unidentified object in her lap with one hand. (Tarnishing to edges, some wiping and spotting to plate.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear). Brass mat stamped "A. J. FOX / ARTIST" and modern label on glass reads, "Amada Ellen Grey nee Bostic wife Allen Charles Grey FG Dumble Father & Mother." -- And 16 others. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 19 sixth plate daguerreotypes featuring people with books, other objects, or notable accessories.
