2 volumes, 8vo. EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with the 85 plates by Eisen, plus a set of plates by Fragonard and others on China paper, as well as a set of tail-pieces by Eisen on China paper. Full deep purple levant, lettered in gilt on spines, all edges gilt, tan levant doublures, marbled endleaves, stamp-signed by P. Ruban; original wrappers bound in to each volume. Provenance: Valentine Hollingsworth (gilt morocco bookplate)
LIMITED EDITION, number 146 of only 50 copies on China paper, from a total edition of 400, signed by the New York publisher in purple ink.
