Original blue-green cloth, gilt-lettered spine (spine very lightly sunned, a few small bumps and spots of rubbing to edges). Provenance: indecipherable penciled ownership signature of front free endpaper).
FIRST EDITION of this account of Kingdon-Ward's 1911 expedition to the north of Yunnan and South-Eastern Tibet to collect plants for the horticultural firm Bees Ltd of Liverpool which included the first viable seed of Meconopsis betonicifolia (Himalayan blue poppy).
