A Pair of Large Meissen Porcelain Groups Depicting Neptune and the Triumph of Amphitrite Height of tallest 16 7/8 x width of widest 24
AFTER THE MODEL BY JOHANN JOACHIM KANDLER, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY

in six parts, one figural group modeled to show the Triumph of Amphitrite or Amphitrite velificans, the goddess depicted holding a scepter among cherubs and seated in a shell-form carriage, the other figural group modeled to show Neptune and Thetis in a shell-form chariot lead by hippocampi, each wave-form base modeled to show Tritons, Nereids, dolphins, turtles, shells and coral, each with crossed swords in underglaze blue, impressed and incised numbers to the underside.
Height of tallest 16 7/8 x width of widest 24 inches.
