Lot Description
Group of Early 20th Century US Military Bolos & a Collins Machete
World War I
1) US Model 1904 Hospital Corps Bolo and Scabbard. 12" bright round tipped bolo blade, 17" overall with finger groove walnut grip and brass guard and mountings. Reverse ricasso marked SA/{Flaming Bomb}/1910 and obverse marked US/14576. Includes a 1911 dated Rock Island scabbard.
2) US Model 1917 Bolo by Plumb. 10.125" Parkerized bolo blade, 14.75" overall with rough hewn wood grips and steel mountings. Includes a Brauer Brothers marked and 1917 dated canvas covered rawhide scabbard.
3) Unmarked US Model 1917 Bolo. 10.5" blued bolo blade, 15.5" overall with replacement composite grips from a machete and steel mountings. Includes a Brauer Brothers marked and 1918 dated canvas covered rawhide scabbard.
4) Collins No. 127 Machete with leather sheath. 17" machete blade, 21.75" overall with composite grips riveted to the tang. Collins markings on reverse ricasso. A Collins marked leather machete scabbard is included.
