Lot Description
Three Excavated Civil War Artillery Shells, Including a CS Read, a Eureka and a Parrott
American Civil War
1) Dug Confederate Read Shell. Nominally 7.5" in length and 2.94" in diameter. Sabot intact.
2) Dug Eureka Patent Shell. Nominally 8" in length and 2.98" in diameter. Disarmed and empty. Sabot mostly present.
3) Dug 10 Pound Parrott Shell. Nominally 8.5" in length and 2.85" in diameter. Corroded fuse in place, sabot partly present. Taped label on bottom notes the shell was recovered at Cold Harbor.
