Group of Civil War Era Belt Plates & Brass Insignia
American Civil War

1) Non-Dug US Eagle Breast Plate. 2.5" diameter stamped brass face with lead filled back and two iron loops.
2) Non-Dug Pattern 1839 Oval US Belt Plate. Nominally 3.5"x2.25" stamped brass face with lead filled back, two arrow hooks and a tongue. Rear face of plate stamped ED NY in individual dies.
3) Non-Dug Cavalry Hat Insignia. Nominally 3.25"x1.75" overall, stamped brass with four brass loops soldered to the rear.
4) Set of Artillery Hat Brass including the number 4, Crossed Cannons and letter F. All of stamped brass with lead soldered brass loops on the rear. Cannons nominally 3.25"x1.7", number 4 nominally 1.07"x.97" and letter F 1"x.94".
5) US Pattern 1839 "small sized" 2.5"x1.5" oval stamped brass face with lead filled back and a single arrow hook and tongue. This plate may be a reproduction as the dimensions do not quite match examples in O'Donnell & Campbell's American Military Belt Plates.
