SH Young Contract US March of 1864 Pattern .58 Caliber Cartridge Box with Box Plate and Cap Pouch
American Civil War
Cartridge box measures nominally 7.1"x5.3"x1.75". SH Young maker mark on reverse, R White inspection on outer flap. Both belt loops and closure tab are reinforced with rivets. Retains both tin magazine on the interior and a lead filled stamped brass box plate on the face. The box is accompanied by an SH Young contractor marked cap pouch with an R White inspection on the outer flap. Cap pouch retains both the wool and the vent pick.
