Lot Description
"Leech & Rigdon" Marked Replica Percussion Revolver & Period Holster
American Civil War
.36 caliber. 7.5" octagon to round barrel. SN: 258. No finish, brass backstrap and triggerguard, smooth one-piece hardwood grip. Single action percussion reviver with toggle link loading lever, six-chambered, unfluted cylinder, hammer nose notch rear sight, brass bead front sight. An aged replica of a Leech & Rigdon revolver with the top flat of the barrel marked LEECH & RIGDON in individual dies with a left hand orientation. The gun is chemically aged to appear old and presents as a believable Leech & Rigdon from a couple of feet, although up close inspection reveals it is obviously not real. This gun was used in Bill Beard's Lt. Moses M Box display that he set up at Civil War Shows, likely to avoid the risk of losing a $20,000+ revolver in such a setting. Includes a period Colt Navy holster.
From the Bill Beard Collection
