Lot Description
Three US Saber Bayonets for Colt Alteration Mississippi Rifles, One with Scabbard
American Civil War
1) 24.5" semi-yataghan blade with 17" median fuller, blade 1.1" wide at ricasso. Overall length 29.5" with a 4.875" cast brass hilt with 15 grasping grooves. Muzzle ring diameter .88". Obverse blade unmarked, reverse dated 1861. SN: 516 on top of hilt. Includes a well worn correct pattern brass mounted leather scabbard.
2) 25.25" semi-yataghan blade with 17" median fuller, blade 1.1" wide at ricasso. Overall length 30.125" with a 4.875" cast brass hilt with 15 grasping grooves. Muzzle ring diameter .90". Obverse blade unmarked, reverse dated 1861. SN: 355 on reverse of guard and 2778 on top of hilt.
3) 25.5" semi-yataghan blade with 16" median fuller, blade 1.1" wide at ricasso. Overall length 30.125" with a 4.875" cast brass hilt with 15 grasping grooves. Muzzle ring diameter .90". Obverse blade unmarked, reverse dated 1862. SN: 10067 on top of hilt.
